Wahooo! Waterpark

The Bahrain-based Wahooo! Waterpark is the Middle East’s first temperature controlled, indoor-outdoor waterpark, set at 30 degrees Celsius all year round. It is also the region’s most imaginative aquatic playground on two levels, with high-octane rides and thrills that are generally observed in hybrid segments of theme parks.

Situated in Manama’s Bahrain City Center, the inspiration to set up a theme park that matches the local community to enhance the country’s appeal was conceptualized in 2005. Construction behan in 2008 and was completed in Octovber 2009, with the installation of Neptune~Benson’s Defender Regenerative Media Filters on the Lazy River/ Activity Pool, Wave Pool, Toddler Pool as the Outdoor pools.

“We chose the Defender filters when desiging Wahooo! to save both space and water. Our unique location on the roof of a shopping mall drove these design elements. One year since opening we have saved an enormous 60,000 litres of water per day (22 million litres per year) resulting in significant energy and water savings. Defender filters are an essential part of the waterparks profitability.”
