Project: FINA World Championships Facilities, Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona’s 16,000 seat Palau Sant Jordi indoor sporting arena was home to the gymnastics, handball and volleyball competitions of the 1992 Summer Olympics, and is now host to the FINA World Aquatic Championships. The venue is temporary, quality was key, and only the finest water quality would do.
Space savings and water quality were the main objectives. Two Regenerative Media Filters replaced eighteen sand filters, providing space savings of over 75% while eliminating 90% of the backwash water.
